When it comes to supper clubs, the normal order of things is that groups of people converge on the host’s house to enjoy all sorts of delicious gastronomic delights over a glass of wine - or several!
But given the current coronavirus situation, with social distancing and self-isolation fast becoming the norm, supper clubs and social gatherings of a similar ilk have had to press the pause button for the next few weeks at least.
This hasn’t stopped the foodies of the world, however, and it seems that we may be on the verge of discovering a hot new trend - digital dinner parties!
According to the BBC, remote socialising is something that many different groups are now turning to, everything from pub quizzes and Brownies meetings to Skype gin and cocktail tastes, and cooking.
Apparently, food fanatics are posting videos and sharing tips to help people find ideas on how to create meals when there’s limited food in the cupboard.
With people increasingly holding group socials on the internet, it’s surely only a matter of time before friends and family sit down to prepare and enjoy meals together… it will certainly be interesting to see if this kind of caper takes off!
Of course, you can also choose to use this time to really spoil yourself and arrange a chef for private catering, whether that’s traditional home cooking or incredible modern cuisine. Here at Nigel Smith, we can help you with self-isolation by providing delicious food for dinner parties and buffets, as well as bringing you amazing ready meals to enjoy at home.
